Allow me to share an unpopular opinion: 2016 has been awesome.

While I love listening to some upbeat and fun Christmas music while doing my holiday baking, when Christmas finally arrives, I personally like to switch to more quiet, reflective Christmas music.

Food is typically one of the largest budget items. Although we'd decided on a cocktail reception, we still wanted to make sure that all of our guests had more than enough to eat.

I knew I'd be asked to show off the ring, indulge curiosities about our wedding plans, and what date we'd picked... but one question came up about a million times more than any other…

On August 12, surrounded by our nearest and dearest (and with some loved ones tuning in via an online broadcast), Ryan and I were married.

Well, well, well... how the tables have turned. This week, my sweetheart, Ryan, and I are getting married!!

As cosplayers, they encouraged their guests to come in costume and promised a prize for the best dressed. When it came to their music selections - you guessed it - geeky to the extreme, with music from TV, movies and video games everywhere they could include it. It. Was. Awesome.

Today's post is one that is so, so close to my heart! Both my husband and I have known Sergio for more than ten years, and seeing the amazing woman that is Laura join his life has been a beautiful thing. We're absolutely blessed to call these guys our friends.

From the very first time I met Lisa and Dan, and conversations ranged from Taylor Swift to which Big Shiny Tunes compilation is better, I knew that their wedding was going to be a blast. And it was.

These two were extremely laid back, and every time we got together they made me laugh - they have great senses of humour, and I have a feeling that I'm not the only person who they made feel like an instant friend from the first time we met.

Elizabeth and Sean wanted to celebrate their marriage with a laid-back shindig for all of their loved ones - and let me tell you, they had just that.

There are a surprising amount of songs that people mention in the same breath as 'newer top 40' that are almost a decade old! And you know what? There's nothing wrong with that!
