2021 was my tenth season of DJing. And if that milestone wasn’t mind boggling enough, my last wedding of 2021 (in mid-December) was my 150th wedding!

It was so easy to get along with these two during planning, since they were so friendly and positive, despite the ever-changing challenges of wedding planning during a pandemic.

Just like almost every couple who got married in 2021, Jesse and Christian’s wedding survived multiple postponements and plan changes. Regardless, these lovebirds tied the knot and we had a pretty epic cocktail party to celebrate.

Can you think of a better way to celebrate your birthday than to dance in the sunshine on a yacht sailing through səl̓ilw̓ət (Burrard Inlet) with 25 of your closest friends? Me neither. In July I had the amazing opportunity to DJ one such party through my work with Airwaves Music.

As one of only two weddings I got to DJ in the hot mess that was 2020, Elena and ZiLi finally got to celebrate their wedding in September, and I was delighted to be involved.

Ryan and Bethany were the first couple that Airwaves connected me with, and from our first meeting I knew that they were my kind of people. They were funny and lighthearted and had the best taste in music…

Sometimes I get to DJ a wedding where it’s so clear that the couple is not only in love, they’re also best buddies. This was definitely the case for Kevin and Danica, and I truly enjoyed getting to know them before the wedding and celebrating with them on the dance floor.

Renée and Angelo’s wedding had so many unforgettable elements… epic food, a huge celebration, hilarious speeches, and an incredibly classy atmosphere.
