Hayley + Noah’s New Years Eve Wedding at The Loft at Earls Vancouver

Left to my own devices, there’s a very good chance I will ring in the new year on the couch with my husband and a bottle of sparkling wine. Thanks to Hayley and Noah and their epic New Year’s Eve wedding, I got to party into 2020 while DJing their classy, stylish and hella fun wedding.

I joined the party at The Loft at Earls in Yaletown, after these two had tied the knot earlier in the day. The Loft at Earls is already super cool, but the classy NYE decor, flowers and food that Hayley and Noah chose took it to the next level. Plus, their friends and family were so nice and so. much. fun.

After a seated dinner, guests headed into the lounge area of The Loft for cocktails, and soon it was time to dance. They chose to start off the dance with a Father Daughter dance, followed by their first dance which rolled into a surprise choreographed line dance with their entire bridal party.

Father Daughter Dance: My Girl - The Temptations

First Dance: Sail Away - David Gray

Bridal Party Line Dance: Dirt On My Boots - John Pardi

After the line dance, we got the party started with some high energy pop and motown, before Noah’s family led the rest of the guests in performing the Hora. Kudos to them for managing to lift Hayley and Noah on chairs without hitting their heads on what is a relatively low ceiling in that part of The Loft!

From there on, the rest of the night was just about celebrating. Music selections included some pop, EDM, oldies and some classic rock for the couples’ parents. Guests rang in the new year with champagne and hugs and kisses, and we quickly got the party going again with Levels by Avicii at the couples’ request, which is a pretty great song to accompany the excitement of a year to come.

This wedding was such a treat to be a part of, and I’m extra grateful that it was, since it is now the last wedding dance floor I got to perform on before Covid restrictions put dancing on hold. Until we’re allowed to crowd a dance floor again, I’ll just be over here re-living the good time I had performing for Hayley, Noah and their loved ones.

A huge shoutout goes to Emma Culling, the photographer responsible for these sweet shots. She took a couple of my favourite photos I’ve ever had of me in action (I have way too many photos of my ‘concentration’ face which makes me look farrrrr more grumpy than I ever feel while DJing!). Here are some more photos from a night I’ll cherish for a long time. Enjoy!
