WEDDING MUSIC: Songs To Walk Down The Aisle To
Choosing songs for your processional (walking up the aisle) usually goes one of two ways. Either you've had the perfect song (or songs) in mind for years, or it's WAY TOO HARD to try to pick the right song for this moment! Unsurprisingly, I had plenty of ceremony songs in mind before I got married. However, lots of couples that I work with have a hard time choosing music, and it's one of the last things they nail down before the big day. So... if you're struggling to decide on a ceremony song, you're not alone!
Depending on the size of your wedding party, the size of your ceremony venue, and your personal preference, there are a few ways to plan your ceremony processional music:
One song for everyone - I like this option, as it keeps things nice and simple. Unless you're getting married in a huge venue, or outdoors, with a long walk to the front of the aisle, usually one song is plenty of time for everyone to walk up the aisle. If not, your DJ should be able to loop the song so it extends naturally to last until everyone has reached the front.
Different songs for different people - Some couples choose to have one song for first half of the wedding party to enter to, then a second song for the second half of the bridal party, and then a third song for the bride (or whoever is entering last) to enter. This works, too!
Some other combination - Of course, you may choose for both fiancees to enter the wedding together, or to have members of the wedding party enter in a non-traditional way. However you're planning your processional, choosing multiple songs can be a great way to include a few songs that are special to you. Just be sure to plan it in advance, and have your DJ or a trusted friend well-informed on the plan! We love it when you do you - and we want to make sure it goes as smoothly as possible.
Remember, your DJ will also be able to fade a song in at any point in the track, or skip from one verse to another, so if there's a particular part of a song that you'd like to hear as you walk down the aisle we can definitely make that happen.
