Laura + Kevin's Wedding with Indie, Alternative and Celtic Punk Jams
All images by Kelly Redinger
From my first meeting with Kevin and Laura, I knew that their wedding was going to be laid back, sentimental, and a ton of fun - just like they are. They have great taste in music, and one of the things they were looking forward to most at their wedding was celebrating on the dance floor with all of their friends. On a cold, snowy day, the love between these two was enough to keep the whole room warm. 💜
Grand Entrance: Right Above It - Lil Wayne ft. Drake
Throughout cocktails and dinner, I was able to mix in some of Kevin and Laura's alternative favourites, including A Day to Remember, Comeback kid, Thrice, Audioslave, The Tragically Hip, The Black Keys, Frank Turner and Explosions in the Sky, to name a few.
First dance: First Day of My Life - Bright Eyes
Mother Son dance: Your Song - Elton John
Father Daughter dance: When You Need Me - Bruce Springsteen
And then it was on with the dance floor... did we ever have a blast!
Not long after their first dance, Laura's closest friends had me stop the music and put on a custom mashup they made and choreographed a dance to. It was a complete surprise to Laura, and it's clear to see just how much she loved it.
Laura and Kevin asked for a little bit of something for everyone, with lots of throwback hip hop and pop, some rap, and a little bit of celtic punk if I could fit it in. Their friends and family were so much fun, and this couple knew what their loved ones were into - I was able to fit in all of the genres they were hoping for and much more. Laura and her friends had spent a lot of time in Ireland, and they got the whole room dancing to some celtic classics at the end of the night.
And now for the photos. All images captured by Kelly Redinger, who did a fab job of capturing the fun-loving people that Laura and Kevin are, and were surrounded with on their wedding day. Enjoy!
