Genelle + Mario's Charming Family Dance Party Wedding

After putting a callout on social media for wedding DJ recommendations, Mario heard about me from two different friends - one who had been to a wedding I'd DJed recently, and one who is a mutual friend of ours. Hearing that people found me through a personal recommendation always warms my heart. When it came to being part of Genelle and Mario's wedding, it was a great reminder of another reason that personal recommendations are the best: you get to connect with your kind of peeps!
These two are sweet, caring, and kept their wedding focused on what matters: their relationship, their families, and celebrating their marriage. I loved their matchy-but-not-matching bridal party, the little nods to their faith throughout the wedding, and their great taste in music, of course!
For their first dance, this couple chose a song that I've actually never seen used for that moment before - but it makes me cry almost every time I hear it (yes... I am such a sap!). It was Have A Little Faith In Me by John Hiatt.
After the first dance, they moved into a shared Father Daughter and Mother Son. The song they chose was Wildflowers by Tom Petty (which I danced with my Dad to at my wedding as well!). About two minutes into the song, I was asked to invite the rest of the guests to come and join in on the dance. I love this option, as it always gets people involved, and it kicks off the dance with a full dance floor. You know that's a great way to kick off a stellar dance party!
