Aaron and Carolyn's wedding was one that I will never forget. Not only was it beautiful and classy, it was one of the most fun weddings I've ever had the pleasure of being a part of. Aaron was born and raised in Newfoundland, and is part of a huge group of Newfie friends who have all moved west. They are awesome. By the time the dance started, there had been so much fun and laughter that all 200 guests had fully bought in to the promise that we were 'gonna have a time'. And we sure did.

If you do nothing else, be sure to scroll down to check out the video of dance floor highlights, because this one was one for the books!

Let's not forget the incredible team of vendors who came together to make Aaron and Carolyn's wedding what it was:

Reception Music: Cocktails + Dinner

Between the cabin's rustic vibes and the groom's love of rock music, both classic and modern, cocktail and dinner music was a mix of upbeat and romantic songs from some of the couple's favourite artists, mixed in with some of my picks.

Artists included:
The Band
Bob Dylan
Hey Rosetta
Blue Rodeo
Bob Marley
Elton John
Tom Petty
Fleetwood Mac
The Tragically Hip
The Cars
Creedence Clearwater Revival

Grand Entrance: Marky Mark & The Funky Bunch – Good Vibrations

First Dance

Aaron and Carolyn planned an awesome first dance mashup, designed to get the party started. I was more than happy to create the mashup before the wedding for them to approve. It was absolutely perfect for them and their crowd, and it kicked the party off with a full dance floor.

Here's how it went down. They started with Hawksley Workman's Safe and Sound, and slow danced to that until the second chorus, when the record scratched to a halt and DJ Kool's Let Me Clear My Throat began. At this point, the dance floor flooded with their friends (and a few of Ready, Set, Booth's photobooth props!). When DJ Kool yells "Freeze!" about halfway through the song, I cut into Rhianna and Calvin Harris' We Found Love. I can't think of a better way to get the party started.

Father Daughter and Mother Son Dance

Rather than killing the momentum created by the first dance mashup, we decided to wait until about 20 minutes into the dance to bring the pace down enough to do the Father Daughter and Mother Son dance. Both Aaron and his mom and Carolyn and her Dad danced to the same song, at the same time, which is becoming a popular choice at many of the weddings I DJ.

Don't forget to subscribe to the PopJukebox YouTube channel

Here's what Aaron and Carolyn had to say about choosing PopJukebox for their wedding:

It’s been just over a month since our wedding. We have had nothing but awesome feedback from all of our guests! The dance floor was packed the entire night! The music was a perfect mix of old school jams, current, and classic wedding songs. There was something for everyone. Stacey from PopJukebox was so awesome to work with. We had 2 meetings with her prior to the wedding to make sure we had everything in order for the big day. She was very helpful in helping us choose our first dance song, parents song, as well as the general flow of the evening. She was able to coordinate with our MC as well to make sure everything ran perfectly. I highly recommend you use her services for any event you have in the future! I can’t say enough to describe how happy we were in choosing PopJukebox!
