Stay With Me - Jeff + Meaghan's Romantic Woodsy Wedding
All images by Lauren Voisin Photography.
It's such a delight to share this wedding with you. Meaghan and Jeff are some of the most genuine, fun, and caring people you will ever meet. On the wedding day their friends and fam were so helpful and sweet... it was one of those weddings that I felt absolutely privileged to be a part of.
After a morning that threatened rain, the lightest showers began to fall as Jeff and Meaghan's late afternoon ceremony began. You all know that I'm no stranger to crying during weddings, no matter how many I attend. There were many things about this wedding that brought a tear to my eye, but the first was the perrrrrfect processional song. José González' Stay Alive played as the bridal party walked into the treed cove where friends and family were waiting, and rose to its crescendo as Meaghan and her dad walked in.
*Cue tears*
I have to hand it to the amazing Linda Balt of Storycatcher Ceremonies - I've been to many, many weddings, and have yet to witness one so thoughtfully planned that told the unique story of the couple so well. Linda did an incredible job of inviting everyone present into Meaghan and Jeff's love story and celebrating their marriage with joy. I can't recommend her enough!
During the ceremony, the couple planted a tree together, using soil from each of their parents' homes.
Tree Planting song: Going to Be Wonderful - Tom Rosenthal
Signing of the Register Song: Indigo Home - Roo Panes
Recessional Song: 5 Years Time - Noah and the Whale
Another perfect song choice was 5 Years Time as the recessional. It's just so happy!
After the ceremony, I quickly moved my gear inside the venue while the bridal party and their family snapped some more photos. Slowly, guests began to trickle inside and enjoy the awesome cocktail music that Meaghan and Jeff picked out.
Cocktail music:
You and I - Ingrid Michaelson
Lifting The Sea - The Hunts
Worlds On Fire - Zerbin
Wasted Time - Vance Joy
I Need Never Get Old - Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats
That’s What’s Up - Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros
Burden of Tomorrow - The Tallest Man on Earth
All I Want is You - Barry Louis Polisar (Juno Soundtrack)
Running - Austin Basham
Grand Entrance Song: I Wanna Be Your Man - Willy Moon
Dinner was thanks to the fine folks at Mercer Catering - soooo delicious! After dinner, of course, there were a number of toasts and speeches. One of the most special things was a video that the bridal party created for Meaghan and Jeff. They had every guest, including people who couldn't make it to the wedding, record a video of themselves wishing the newlyweds well, and edited it into the sweetest, most heartfelt video. I can't even imagine the time it took to compile such a special surprise!

At one point in the night, the bridesmaids convinced me to humour Meaghan's love of Disney music, and play a number of Disney songs to sing along to.... it was super fun. I also loved their choice for the last song of the night, Lover of the Light by Mumford & Sons.
