Savannah + Lance's Epic Dance Party Wedding
All images by Wild Love Photos.
After years as a wedding DJ, when I look back on the different celebrations I've had the pleasure of being part of, there's usually one thing that sticks out to me from each event. Labelled in my head like episodes of Friends - "The One With The Red Wedding Dress," "The One With The Confetti," "The One With The Dance-Off" - I never forget a wedding.
For Savannah and Lance, it's "The One With The Epic Dance Party."
Not only do Savannah and Lance love to have a good time, their friends were an absolute riot. If you don't believe me, just check out this photo of Savannah and her girls, taken the morning of the wedding.
Enough said.
The entire day was spent at The Old Timers Cabin, beginning with a beautiful ceremony. One of the most memorable parts of the ceremony was a little surprised orchestrated by Lance.
All started as usual, with his groomsmen walking into the ceremony. But when it came time for his best man to enter, nothing happened. Moments passed, and there was that awkward feeling that something was wrong. Finally, the best man appeared, but instead of heading to the stage, he went to Lance's mom, telling her that Lance needed her. Of course, she rushed out of the ceremony, only to find that Lance simply wanted to surprise her by escorting her down the aisle. A few tears were shed, and when she regained composure, Lance got to share the spotlight with his mom, walking her down the aisle.
Here are the song selections for their ceremony:
Groom (and his mom!)'s entrance: Skinny Love - Birdy
Bridesmaids' entrance: First Day Of My life - Bright Eyes
Bride's Entrance: Never Let Me Go - Florence + the Machine
Signing of the Register: Fire and The Flood - Vance Joy
Recessional: Ho Hey - Lumineers
After a quick flip of the cabin, it was time for the reception. Everything looked classy and beautiful... but when the bridal party enters the room to DJ Khaled's "All I Do Is Win", it's safe to say that the reception is going to be a good time.
Grand Entrance Song: All I Do Is Win - DJ Khaled
Now, on to what's (obviously) my favourite part of the night - the dance party!
Savannah and Lance made it clear before the wedding that they (and their friends) wanted their wedding to be a killer party. Um, me too! Luckily, these two have great taste in music, which makes my job easy. I was so pleasantly surprised by the requests that came in as well - Savannah's GFs and I happen to share a soft spot for late-90s teenybopper pop. I'm not going to lie... I don't think I'd ever had a request for B4-4 before...
The special music they chose for the evening included...
First dance song: XO - John Mayer (Beyonce cover)
Father/daughter dance song: My Girl - The Temptations
Mother/son dance song: My hero - Foo Fighters (acoustic version)
They also requested a specific song to kick off the dance floor, which I always love...
Dance floor kick off: Crazy In Love - Beyonce ft. Jay-Z

Here's what Savannah and Lance had to say about their experience with PopJukebox:
"Stacey is incredible and does not disappoint! She meets with her clients prior to their event to get a feel for their style and what their expectations are. Stacey takes care of every detail and is incredibly professional yet easygoing. Stacey DJed our recent wedding and the dance floor was packed for the entire event. We still have people telling us how fun the party was. I'm looking for another huge party to host so I can hire Stacey again!!"
Now, I just HAVE to give a shoutout to my friend Kristy from Wild Love Photos, who took all of the amazing photos in this post. It was an absolute pleasure to work alongside her at this wedding! She did an incredible job of capturing the beauty of this wedding, along with all of the fun.
On with the dance floor photos! Enjoy!
